The big break contest is in full swing, and has already been narrowed down to 5 finalists! We have:
Pete Siner, a native Rhode Islander, who is an independent artist, using his words, vocals and original sound to make a splash here in the ocean state. His song,‘Burn it down’, is an uplifting soft rock song about pursuing your goals.
Moment of Clarity (also known as MOC) is an alternative rock band originating in the Fall River, Massachusetts area. The band features; vocalist Marriah Cram, bassist Ashtyn Haskins, drummer Ashton Rock, and guitarists Nate McShane and Benjamin Fraizer. They will be performing their original song ‘ Not my Hero’ which is a song about empowering woman to be strong on their own.
Craig DeMelo is an eclectic singer/songwriter from Southeast, Massachusetts. Craig has made a name for himself in New England and beyond, playing stages from coast-to-coast. For this contest, he is performing his song ‘Raindrops’ which is about two people dealing with the difficulties of life.
Tyler & Ryan are two brothers from Bristol, RI. They are a pop duo that are rapidly making a name for themselves in the local area and beyond. With 49,000 youtube subscribers and over 4.5 millions views, these guys are certainty going somewhere. You can watch them perform their song ‘How This Town Shaped Me’, which is about how grateful they feel to be growing up in a small town.
Clear Blue is a blues/country band from Rhode Island. It features Dave Petrone on vocals, guitar and percussion, Mike Pearlman on guitar, harmonica and ukulele and Pat Lynch on upright bass and electric bass. Pat spent a few years playing the blues in California, and even had his own blues club. Dave has been a part of the folk scene in a few major cities, like New York and Los Angeles. When Mike isn’t busy serenading you with his amazing vocals, you can find him at his guitar repair shop helping out other musicians. They are performing ‘Wine,Whiskey or Beer’, which is about how things can pile up in life, and sometimes you just need a drink to get through.
Between March 14th and 18th, tune into The Rhode Show to watch the remaining contestants perform their songs live. Voting will begin again on March 18th, and this time, you are voting for the winner! They will also all be performing at the Battle of the Bands, on March 19th, in the Cardi’s Community Room in South Attleboro, MA. It is a free show, that starts at 10:30am. This is a great opportunity to support your favorite contestant, or find out who your favorite is!
