April 15-19 Party for the Planet! This April vacation, don’t miss out on a party as big and green as the Earth itself! This weeklong green extravaganza features art made from recycled products or inspired by nature, interactive demos that will teach you all the fun you can have outdoors, green organizations from throughout RI sharing tips on how to live green in your community and home, and more. May 18 Scout Safari Day Calling all Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts! Spend an adventurous day at the Zoo! Interactive stations throughout the Zoo will help Scouts to complete a variety of badge requirements. Animal Feedings! Starting April 1, Zoo visitors will have the exciting opportunity to participate in a group feeding session, an unforgettably close animal experience. Head to Roger Williams Park Zoo for an adults-only evening event from 7 pm – 11 pm and have a wild time while supporting the Zoo! (The Zoo will close by 2 pm to allow for preparations for this event.) This annual fundraising bash offers partygoers the chance to roam the Zoo and sample specialties from dozens of the area's best restaurants, caterers, and bars while enjoying musical entertainment by the World Premier Band, dancing, and more. All proceeds help support the Zoo's education and wildlife conservation programs.

September 8 Day of Honor Roger Williams Park Zoo salutes the men and women who serve our nation and communities on a special Day of Honor, on September 8, with free admission for veterans and members of our armed forces as well as active and retired police, fire and ambulance personnel and emergency responders (identification of active or retired status must be shown to receive free admission), and half price admission for up to three guests.

October 3 - November 3 Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular TThe acclaimed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular presented by Citizens Bank returns to Roger Williams Park Zoo. You will be amazed by this breathtaking display of thousands of illuminated jack-o-lanterns with over 125 of them carved into veritable works of art. The Providence Journal said it’s “…one of the things that make Rhode Island one of a kind.” It was hailed on offmanhttan.com as “…one of the most brilliant displays of holiday artistry anywhere in the U.S.”
The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular will run October 3 - November 3, rain or shine with admission from 6 pm to 10 pm; the trail closes at 11 pm. Admission is extended to 11 pm on Saturdays, with the trail closing at midnight. Visitors who purchase the dinner offering enjoy express entry to the pumpkin trail.
The Spectacular is an important fundraiser for Roger Williams Park Zoo, with proceeds directed to support the Zoo’s environmental education and conservation efforts locally, and Zoo improvements.

October 26 & 27 - Spooky Zoo Join us for a wildly fun time this Halloween and enjoy frightfully fun activities, including trick-or-treat stations; pumpkin treats for the animals; creepy, crawly animal encounters; pumpkin carving demonstrations; games tent; roaming costumed characters; live music and more. Hasbro’s Our Big Back Yard NOW OPEN! This is a major new exhibit that offers kids a nature play and exploration area unlike anything else in our region.
