Skate for Joy is a non-profit organization committed to helping children discover the joy of ice skating. The program dedicates its time and effort to under served kids in the Providence and Newport communities to give them a chance to take part in a fun and exciting after-school program. Founded in 2001, Skate for Joy began providing skating lessons, life coaching, and healthy after-school snacks for kids in Providence. In 2008, Skate for joy expanded their program to Newport and is grateful for the support it has received from organizations such as the St. Georges School, the Newport Yachting Center, and Salve Regina University. Children from Child & Family and the Cranston Calvert School have benefited from this after-school program. The program provides mentoring that fosters skills in goal-setting and teaches the importance of physical fitness and respecting themselves and others. For the past two years, Salve Regina University Marketing students have been taking part in helping to raise money and create awareness for the Skate for Joy program.

Julie's Family Learning Program
This program has served the Greater Boston community over the last 35 years by helping hundreds of
disadvantaged, low-income single mothers and their children break the cycle of poverty. By providing families the critical tools they need ? education, job training, parenting and life skills, food and clothing assistance, excellent childhood programming, a Montessori pre-school, and much more - the families can finally pull themselves out of crisis and move towards much greater stability. Most importantly, this in turn opens the door to a far better future for the children, and the destructive legacy of intergenerational poverty can be brought to an end. The innovation of Julie's is that approach to education and social services is holistic, intensive, and tailored to the families'
pressing needs. Instead of having to navigate a labyrinth of services spread
throughout the city, mothers can access over twenty services in one single, welcoming
location. Serving the parent and child simultaneously has the additional effect of strengthening the family unit and fostering healthy parent-child relationships.
The American Red Cross Rhode Island Chapter supports Rhode Islanders who serve our country in the military, and their families, with emergency assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Help us SUPPORT OUR RI TROOPS by making a donation to support Armed Forces Emergency Services.
